Crime - All areas of criminal Law, in particular defence. I tend to specialise in the most complex and serious cases with a particular specialism in Health & Safety.

A typical day…

...usually involves advocacy in the Magistrates Court or Crown Court; when not in court my time is taken up by attendances on clients both in or out of the office and working on the preparation of my clients' defences. I also have a firm wide responsibility for managing one of the largest crime departments in the country.

Expertise

Although able to deal with all aspects of criminal law practice I do specialise in advocacy making frequent appearances to represent clients in both the Crown Court and Magistrates Court; I am a Higher Courts Crime Advocate and also a Police Station Duty Solicitor; for many years I have been the chair of Preston Law Society Crime Practitioners Committee and sit on various court user groups.
