Cohabiting Couples Increase Over the Last Decade

The Family Law Reports have detailed interesting statistics that have been published which demonstrate that cohabiting couple families have increased from 2.1 million to 2.9 million last year.

Dependent children from unmarried parents have also increased from 1.3 million to 1.8 million in 2011.  Couples without children also increased in 2011 to 7.6 million. Read more

UK Divorce Rates Increase Almost 5% In 12 Months

Recent information shows that the number of divorces in England and Wales have increased by almost 5% in the last 12 months. Divorce rates were actually falling in 2008 and 2009.

Experts are speculating that the number of divorces may be directly linked to the recesssion. If you look at the numbers involved, there does seem to be a trend in that, in the early 1980′s, 1990′s 2000s and now, there is an increase. The common factor of these dates? A recession. Read more
