Over the last few years claims of historic abuse whilst in care and of failures to act by Social Services have become serious concerns for Local Authorities and Insurers alike. Organised gangs, engaged in child sexual exploitation have also brought a new dimension to claims. Recent cases have expanded the responsibilities of Councils and institutions and the threat of both local and national publicity which these claims can attract is a constant challenge.
This seminar aims to bring you up to date with the current case law, issues, tactics and things to watch for the future.
There will be presentations by Steven Ford QC, a Barrister 'whose reputation on child abuse cases has risen to great heights' (Chambers and Partners) and a representative from the Information Commissioners Office as well as Forbes' specialist Social Services team.
Registration and refreshments are from 9am and the seminar will conclude with coffee and networking at 3pm. Delegates will have the chance to ask questions to the expert speakers during a panel Q&A session.
