St Catherine's Hospice and Forbes Solicitors are joining together this November to highlight the importance of writing a Will.

The hospice will be running its annual Wills Week from the 12th November to 16th November, when Forbes Solicitors will waive their usual Will-writing fee, and instead ask people to make a donation to the hospice.

This Wills week follows a recent survey of 2000 UK adults which has found that:

  • Among the over 55s, 42% do not have a Will(1)
  • 2 in 3 UK residents do not have a Will(2)
  • 1.5 million people have not updated their Will since getting married making it void(3)

Making a Will can simplify the administration process for your loved ones after you pass away.

Wills week allows you receive a professionally drawn-up Will, while St Catherine's Hospice receive much-needed donations for their vital work.

The offer applies to standard Wills and mirror Wills - two identical Wills written for you and your spouse or partner.

Supporters are also invited to remember St Catherine's Hospice by leaving a gift in their Will. In 2011/12 the care of one in seven patients at St Catherine's was funded by such donations.

Anyone interested in taking advantage of Wills Week to draw up their Will should contact St Catherine's Hospice for an entitlement voucher and information pack. Call on 01772 629171 or visit www.stcatherines.co.uk.
