A charity which empowers people with disabilities to lead a more active and independent life has benefited by £664 after a fundraising night of food, drinks, a catwalk and a showcase of beauty products organised by Forbes Solicitors.

Rainbow House, based in Mawdesley, fills a gap in provision to help people progress in every area of learning whilst also helping their families with advice, support and guidance.

The fundraising event, at Forbes' Oak House office in Walton Summit, included demonstrations as well as food, prosecco and gin tasting for the 40 women who attended.

The evening also showcased products by Tropic Skincare, Kiehl's, M+LKPLUS, GG Bakes and freshly made food by Fully Loaded Pizza.

Kiehl's, M+LKPLUS, Ribby Hall Village, French Connection, Tropic Skincare and GG Bakes also donated raffle prizes and products for the goodie bags.

The event organisation was led by Solicitor Rebecca McCann at Forbes, who is based within the Corporate team at Oak House.

She said: "Rainbow House is an amazing charity which transforms the lives of so many people by understanding that the complexities facing people with disabilities, and their families, extend far beyond the immediate physical and mental impairments of the individual.

"We are delighted to have raised so much money to help them with their work on what was a fantastic evening and I would like to thank everyone who attended and gave their support."

Lyndsay Fahey, Head of Strategic Development & Finance at Rainbow House, said: "Rainbow House is 100% self-funded, we receive no government funding and rely on the generosity and support of individual giving, support from the local community, funds raised from events, grants from trusts and corporate support.

"Our work simply couldn't happen without our amazing supporters who raise the money that funds it and we are so grateful to everyone at Forbes for organising this event and to those people who helped raise such a fantastic sum of money."
