A track record of dealing with multi-million pound claims for national and international clients has seen Forbes Solicitors' Contentious Trusts and Probate team double in size and grow to be one of the largest in the North of England in the last year.

The team was set up in 2017 by Associate Ben Wilson, a Legal 500 recommended specialist in disputes arising from Contesting Wills, Trusts, Probate and Inheritance matters.

Ben is a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and acts for clients on a local, national and international basis, dealing with a range of high value and complex claims.

The team has now grown to include Associate Solicitor Kirsty McNulty, Solicitors Tom Howcroft and Olivia Jack, and Paralegal Sarah Corbridge.

The team acts for a range of clients such as Trustees, Executors, Beneficiaries, Claimants and Defendants on a range of matters including; claims for reasonable financial provision pursuant to the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975; Contesting the validity of a Will, for example on the basis of undue influence, lack of capacity, or lack of knowledge or approval of the terms of the Will; Interpretation issues and breach of trust.

Ben Wilson said "I am incredibly proud of my team and the progress we have made over the last couple of years. The team is now well established as the leading Contentious Trusts and Probate team in Lancashire and one of the largest in the North."

Their work is overseen by Partner Michael Chambers, head of Forbes Dispute Resolution Team, who said: "The Contentious Trusts and Probate Team has worked incredibly hard to build a reputation for offering expert advice in a sensible and clear way, and getting results.

"That reputation, along with its work for clients on a local, national and international level has led to it very quickly becoming the largest CTP department in Lancashire and one of the largest, if not the largest in the North.

"At Forbes, we pride ourselves on listening to our clients and providing genuine and practical advice, no matter how big or how small the case."
