It goes without saying that the last few months have been an incredibly challenging time for manufacturers, but it is encouraging to see the adaptability and resilience that many of our manufacturing clients have shown. The Senator Group are known for being great innovators so it came as no real surprise to see that they had adapted so quickly in such difficult circumstances. With the NHS facing unprecedented pressures, Senator's rapid support for the Nightingale hospitals and other key facilities is something that the firm should rightly be very proud about.
The Senator Group have moved quickly to adapt large parts of their business during the recent pandemic. Initially all production capabilities of the office furniture manufacturer were turned over to Teal, their Healthcare Division, to help produce furniture for all the pop-up Nightingale hospitals across the UK. Around 10,000 items were developed in-house, manufactured and delivered in a very short space of time to help the NHS and other key-worker services.
Internally, lots of processes were changed to safe guard The Senator Group's employees and enforce social distancing measures. This included changing starting, break and lunch times to minimise the opportunities to be in close contact with others, providing the relevant PPE and hand sanitisers around the factory and offices, restricting visitors to sites and making 1-way access around factories, all to try and minimise inter-personal contact and uphold social distancing.
The Senator Group also rapidly developed new products for post-COVID offices and workplaces - their 'Define my Space' collection - which are different types of products to help get employees back in the office, and crucially, feeling safe when they do so.
