The Government announced this morning that the moratorium on commercial lease forfeiture, on the grounds of non-payment of rent, will be extended until 31st March 2021 and further confirmed that this will be the "final" extension.
The Lease Forfeiture Moratorium currently prevents landlords from repossessing commercial premises of businesses who are unable to pay their rent as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The restriction on landlords using CRAR (Commercial Rent Arrears Recovery) is automatically being extended until the 31st March 2021 in line with the new expiry date of the moratorium.
