Preston North End player Billy Jones made his second public comeback from injury in a matter of hours as he headed along to meet and greet the children of Fulwood & Cadley Primary School thanks to the generous sponsorship of Forbes Solicitors.
The versatile defender was on hand to answer questions from a lively and inquisitive audience at the school which is only a few minutes away from the famed Deepdale stadium, and the youngsters from the junior years were keen to find out how he'd got on during his reserve team outing against Blackpool the previous evening as he made a successful comeback from a hernia operation.
They also discovered some useful gems of information, such as his keen passion for table tennis, his admiration of Gabriel Agbonlahor's abilities when playing for his beloved Aston Villa, and the general content of a footballer's everyday diet.
Best of all, the former Crewe star spent over half an hour signing player cards for all 180 children in the junior classes, and then left 25 pairs of tickets for a selection of lucky juniors to attend the forthcoming game against Coventry with a parent or guardian.
The outing was made possible thanks to leading local law firm Forbes Solicitors, who have signed on to spend the 2007/08 season as Billy's official player sponsors. John Slater from Forbes also attended the afternoon session, where he was presented with two of Billy's signed match-worn shirts from the current campaign.
