Solicitor Warns Businesses to Stay Lucky on Friday the 13th

News

13 June, 2014

Forbes Solicitors are warning that Friday the 13th brings about important changes to consumer law which will affect many local businesses.

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 bring in new requirements for businesses, affecting amongst other things, the information and cooling off period that a business must give to consumers when contracting at a distance or away from their usual business premises.

Businesses selling goods or services to consumers should review their terms and conditions, websites and other materials to make sure they fit the new rules.

John Pickervance, Business Law Solicitor at Forbes Solicitors comments, "All firms dealing with consumers should review their terms and conditions to avoid falling foul of the changes to the law."
