Forbes Solicitors recently visited the Connexions Office in Blackburn to demonstrate to a group of young people the benefits of an apprenticeship. They were invited as part of the Governments focus on Apprenticeship Week.

Forbes has eight years experience of taking young people through the Business Administration Apprenticeship programme, which is delivered in house by their Training Team. Staff can achieve an NVQ Level II in Business Administration, 30 words per minute touch typing, a Legal Text Processing certificate and a Forbes' IT Certificate. This qualification helps young people develop their career with Forbes and the firm has seen 90 people successfully complete the programme since its inception.

Javeed Hanware, Personal Advisor at Connexions, arranged the visit to give the young people an opportunity to ask questions of a local employer who has developed the Government's Apprenticeship Programme to be relevant to the legal sector.

Forbes Solicitors has previously been awarded Employer of the Year by the Learning and Skills Council for their efforts in improving young people's skills through apprenticeships.
