Gas Servicing Team Complete Gas Safety Awareness Level 2 Qualification

Article

This week, all of the Gas Servicing Team within the Housing Litigation department at Forbes Solicitors have completed their Level 2 qualification in Gas Safety Awareness in Social Housing.

The qualification, delivered by Morgan Lambert in conjunction with Logic Certification, provides the Gas Servicing Team with a broad knowledge of the following areas:

  • Understand the requirements of the Gas Safety (Installations and Use) Regulations 1998 applicable to social landlords;
  • Understand the requirements placed upon gas engineers to work legally in domestic properties;
  • Understand the actions necessary in the event of an escape of gas or report of fumes.

In addition, the qualification provides the Gas Servicing Team with an overview of the types of gas used in domestic properties and the requirements for correct combustion as well as how to identify the signs of an appliance which has combustion/flue/ventilation problems.

The qualification not only reinforces the Gas Servicing Team's knowledge of the Gas Safety Regulations, but also gives them a practical insight into the role of a gas engineer, allowing them to have a greater understanding of our client's business.

Here at Forbes we have an experienced Gas Servicing Team within our Housing Litigation department and have worked alongside a number of Registered Providers to ensure they have a robust gas servicing policy in place to deal with tenants who refuse access, complemented with swift legal action once their internal procedure has been exhausted. Additionally, we also provide training to our clients to highlight the importance of gas safety and complying with the provisions of the Gas Safety Regulations.
