Green Vale Homes, Rossendale's biggest social landlord, has secured an injunction against the visitor of a tenant after an attack on an employee.
The application was made on 02.04.15 immediately following an incident where a Green Vale Homes employee had been physically assaulted by an individual. Green Vale Homes took swift and decisive action against the violent perpetrator by seeking the injunction with a power of arrest.
At the return hearing on 09.04.15, the injunction was extended to include an exclusion zone preventing the Respondent from entering the property at times when employees of Green Vale Homes would be present.
After the hearing, Green Vale Homes Anti-Social Behaviour and Interventions Manager Martin Jackson said: "We will not tolerate attacks on our employees and we were delighted to have been able to take swift action against the perpetrator. Using the new legislation, we have been able to bring action against the attacker and send out a message that violence in our properties will not be tolerated."
Amy Hunter, from Forbes Solicitors, acting on behalf of Green Vale Homes said "We are pleased that we have been able to secure a positive outcome for our client. The outcome in this case reinforces the message that violence and antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated within our client's housing stock. We will continue to assist our client in tackling anti-social behaviour on its estates by using the new legislation to its full potential."
