The Insurance Fraud Taskforce was set up in January 2015. Its aim is to investigate the causes of fraudulent behaviour and recommend solutions to reduce the level of insurance fraud.
The Insurance Fraud Taskforce has published its first interim report, the report sets out the areas that the Insurance Fraud Taskforce will explore in more depth.
According to the report, the Taskforce will focus on "four broad topics"; including the encouragement of fraudulent claims, fraud deterrents in the claims process, the role of fraud data and policyholder behaviour drivers. A copy of the report can be found here http://bit.ly/1yNA1Az.
Due to the complexity of the problem the Taskforce will need to explore the issues in more depth before making recommendations in a final report later in 2015.
