09 December, 2008
Community & Business Partners (formerly, Blackburn Partnership) would like to invite HR Practitioners from companies operating in the Pennine Lancashire area, to their next HR Managers Forum on 10 December 2008, 11.45am for a 12noon start at Ewood Park, Blackburn.
The HR Managers Forum meets twice a year - June and December, with the aim of private sector companies getting together to share best practice, debate topical issues of concern and network with other HR practitioners. John Conway, Senior Advisor from ACAS, will attend the December meeting and will give an update on topical issues and recent changes in employment legislation.
Joanne Pickering, Head of HR, Training & Quality at Forbes Solicitors, is the Chair of the HR Managers Forum. Joanne is a Chartered Member of CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) and has been in HR for a number of years, with experience of working in different sectors, including automotive, not for profit, further education and latterly, eight years with Forbes Solicitors, who have nine sites across the Northwest and 350 staff.
Joanne says "At Forbes, we are keen to put something back into the community and offer support to others. I, like a number of HR practitioners, fell into the role by chance and tend to "wear other hats". What I have seen over my career, is that all businesses have the same HR issues, it is the context which is different and therefore, we can share our experiences and learn from one another."
Should you wish to attend the meeting in December, please email Linda Grimshaw, Employers Forums Manager at Community & Business Partnership - firstname.lastname@example.org or view the website www.cbpartners.org
