11 November, 2015
On 5 November 2015, Forbes hosted the fully sold out seminar looking at issues surrounding extra-care schemes. With countless statistics available detailing our aging population, links between poor housing and health and many RPs either delivering or looking at delivering these type of schemes, the event had a waiting list to attend. The audience welcomed speakers Lucy Worrall, Head of Housing and Regeneration (property) and Daniel Milnes, Head of Contracts and Projects, both of Forbes Solicitors, Frances Chaplin Partner at PRP Architects and Paul Gerrard of ForViva.
Lucy looked at specific legal issues RPs face when dealing with extra care schemes looking at eligibility, management and how to deal with concessions whilst Daniel considered regulation aspects.
Frances Chaplin considered design issues and Paul Gerrard gave an insight into ForViva's approach to schemes already up and running.
Lucy Worrall added "Thank you to all those who came to the event this morning and to our speakers. There has, perhaps not surprisingly, been a lot of interest in this topic and at Forbes, we continue to work with our RP clients to help them deliver these type of schemes and minimise risk and add value wherever possible."
