Yes you can take action against the person who provided you with the treatment if it fell below the standard that was acceptable i.e. negligent. A recent client had fillers injected into her chest to try and correct deep lines caused by sun damage. Unfortunately that particular filler wasn't designed for the chest area and therefore should never have been injected. It caused a visible lumpiness that fortunately was temporary but still very upsetting for the client. We took action against the beautician and her insurance company paid out the compensation to the lady in question.
If you would like to claim compensation for a botched beauty treatment, including Botox, fillers, laser treatments or cosmetic surgery, call our Personal Injury Solicitors for a free consultation on freephone 0800 975 2463 or contact us by email today.
Another lady suffered scarring after laser hair removal treatment. Fortunately, again, the scarring was temporary but was still upsetting, necessitated a visit to the GP and limited the ladies choice of outfits for some weeks. Again, the lady was happy with the compensation she received.
A large number of people are having botox injections to try to regain a more youthful appearance and in most cases it is an extremely successful treatment. With botox however you should check that the person injecting the botox which relaxes the muscles preventing wrinkles and smoothing out lines is properly qualified to administer injections and should be a doctor, dentist or nurse.
As with all cosmetic treatments it is vitally important to check the credentials of who will be giving the treatment. Make sure your expectations are discussed and that you are aware of and consent to any risks or possible side effects. You should read and sign any consent form very carefully.
