Forbes Solicitors has advised Heart of the Lakes and Fisherbeck Management Limited as they joined forces with Lakelovers to create the Lake District's leading independent quality holiday cottage letting agency.

Lakelovers and Heart of the Lakes have been at the forefront in developing and refining the letting of holiday cottages in the region and now have a combined total of more than 900 properties available for holiday let.

Solicitor Rebecca McCann and Associate Solicitor Nick Hodgson, from Forbes' Corporate team, advised on the corporate aspects of the move, with Solicitor Henry Prescott dealing with the Commercial Property, Solicitor Abigail Mottram dealing with Employment and Associate Solicitor John Pickervance advising on the Commercial matters.

Rebecca McCann said: "Both Lakelovers and Heart of the Lakes have focussed on providing a top-quality product and service to holidaymakers over many years and we are delighted to have been able to advise Heart of the Lakes and Fisherbeck Management Limited on this important step in the development of the businesses."

The combined businesses will continue to operate under their own, unique, brands from their existing bases in the Lake District, with the same key managers and teams in place, as relationships in a service led industry are key.

Owners and holidaymakers alike will experience no change in the service they receive, but can take additional comfort from being looked after by the largest combined agency in the area with access to substantial resources and years of experience.

Heart of the Lakes has always taken great stock by being a 'family' owned business. The combination of Lakelovers and Heart of the Lakes provides the opportunity for Peter and Sue Jackson to step back from an active role and enjoy a well-earned retirement.

However, they will continue to be engaged in the business in an advisory role. Chris Jackson will remain with the Heart of the Lakes business, and with his son active in the Marketing department, it retains the family ethos the Jacksons have so successfully fostered.
