Major company law change is focus of seminar

09 May, 2007

The hotly anticipated Companies Act 2006 has recently been approved by parliament. It aims to simplify and update company law to fulfil modern business requirements and will influence every aspect of corporate practice.

Experts from the specialist commercial teams at Forbes Solicitors have joined together to present an uncomplicated overview of the areas businesses really need to know about:

  • New statutory duties imposed on every director
  • New easier method for shareholders to sue directors for breach of duty - how would you defend yourself?
  • New laws which make companies easier to run - learn how to take advantage of these.
  • Overdrawn directors accounts become legal but only if you do it properly - learn how.
  • New rules for charity directors and much, much more

Demand has been high for these events from businesses across Lancashire however there are a few remaining places. Two seminar dates are available: 23rd May at Stanley House Hotel, Mellor or 6th June at the Preston Marriot Hotel. Registration is at 9.00am and the seminar will conclude with lunch at 12.30.

The cost of the seminar is £45 + VAT. To book a place or to receive further details please contact Helen Gorrell at Forbes Solicitors on 01254 222394 or email
