Forbes Solicitors acted for Kepak UK Limited on the sale of business assets at their Bamber Bridge site. The value of the deal is subject to confidentiality provisions and was an exchange of factory premises between the Kepak Group and the Dunbia Group.

Kepak Group acquired Dunbia's Irish abattoir in Kilbeggan, County Westmeath. In exchange, the Dunbia Group acquired Kepak Group's Preston-based abattoir and retail packing facility in the UK.

Dunbia's Kilbeggan abattoir is located in one of Ireland's finest beef producing regions, and the acquisition will strengthen the Kepak Group's position as a leading processor of Irish beef.

Acquiring the Kepak Preston abattoir and retail packing plant will reinforce Dunbia as a leading supplier of pre-packed fresh beef, lamb and pork products to the UK supermarket multiples.

Daniel Milnes the Partner who led the transaction said, "The part exchange nature of the transaction made the deal slightly unusual. However, bringing the specialists from our employment and commercial property departments into the team ensured everything flowed smoothly."

Robbie Grogan, Finance Director of Kepak Group added, "The whole team at Forbes provided unfaltering support and were instrumental in helping us close a valuable and complicated deal."
