Gas Servicing Team Complete Gas Safety Awareness Qualification

All of the Gas Servicing Team within the Housing Litigation Department at Forbes Solicitors recently completed their Level 2 qualification in Gas Safety Awareness in Social Housing.

Forbes’ Housing & Regeneration Team Centralised

The Housing & Regeneration Department will now be centralised in Preston office offering a seamless service to clients.

The Property Team has moved over to Preston to join the other core housing departments including Employment & HR, Housing Management & Tenancy Enforcement and Corporate, Governance & Procurement.

Lucy Worrall, Partner and Head of Housing & Regeneration (Property) comments, “Although the teams making up the Housing & Regeneration Department at Forbes already work closely together, being together under one roof will enhance the service we offer our clients. Self Build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015

The Government has taken its first steps in legislating their Right to Build initiative by way of the Self Build and Custom Housing Building Act. The Act, that has recently received Royal Assent, aims to see an increase in the number of individuals building their own home or commissioning a builder to construct their home, in accordance with their own personal specifications.

Contour Homes Obtain Part 1 Injunction Against Violent Tenant

Contour Homes, part of the Symphony Housing Group, have used the provisions of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 to obtain an ex parte injunction against a tenant following a violent attack against a neighbouring resident, with assistance from Forbes Solicitors.

Housing Litigation Team Goes From Strength to Strength

The Housing Litigation Team at Forbes Solicitors continues to go from strength to strength following two promotions and a new appointment.

Sam Gorrell and Justine Hunkins have both been promoted to Associates. Sam specialises in tenancy enforcement action and tackling Anti-Social Behaviour on behalf of Registered Providers whilst Justine specialises in disrepair claims and rent possession actions.

Christine Land has joined the team from Croftons LLP as a Solicitor and will specialise in Leasehold disputes. She is skilled in legal research and enjoys finding practical solutions to complex and obscure legal queries.

Budget measures fall short for housing?

Despite calls from the National Housing Federation to address the issue regarding housing with an aim of ending the housing crisis within a generation, the reveal of the current Government's final budget earlier this month left registered providers disappointed.
