Shared Ownership - What's the Reality?

This week saw the publication of Social Housing magazine's 2014 shared ownership sales report.

The report quotes that shared ownership first tranche sales across England fell by 10 per cent in 2013/14 but that more modest reductions were seen outside London and goes onto to say that the fall may be due to lack of supply rather than demand.

Free breakfast briefing | Holiday pay and overtime - defusing the time bomb

The Employment Appeals Tribunal has recently delivered a judgment confirming that voluntary overtime payments should be included in the calculation of holiday pay. This could lead to a huge potential number of claims. Already trade unions within the housing sector are mobilising to ensure their members get their entitlement.

The Employment and HR Team at Forbes have put together a free breakfast briefing, setting out what housing associations and Registered Providers need to know, the potential risk this decision creates; and more importantly the steps that can be taken to mitigate that risk.

The briefing will run in Preston on 9th December and Manchester on 10th December. Registration is at 8.30am with a 9am start and should conclude by 10am.

Guinness Crowned Go Karting Champion

On a damp and cold November evening, The Forbes Housing & Regeneration Team pitted their driving skills against some the country's leading housing providers at an evening of Go Karting at Team Sport in Warrington.

Competition between the registered providers was fierce, with several racers ending up in the tyre wall after some underhand overtaking manoeuvres and a certain driver being black flagged twice in the first heat - no names! The Forbes' Housing & Regeneration Team will be hosting a full day ASB conference on 25th February 2015 at the Village Hotel, Bury. The conference will be packed with top quality speakers and will include breakout sessions, giving delegates the chance to gain an understanding of specific topics.
