Jonathan is a Partner in the Employment Department and Head of the Firm's Education Group. He has specialised in Employment Law throughout his career, and has a wealth of experience advising on employment law and related issues within the education sector.
In his role as Head of the Education Group he is responsible for ensuring a seamless service across all aspects of legal services to clients within the Education sector on behalf of the firm; providing responsive advice tailored to the particular needs of clients.
Jonathan acts as client relationship manager for a number of key clients within the Firm, responsible for a high level of service delivery and providing pro-active solutions tailored to the needs of individual clients.
He is an experienced Tribunal advocate, and regularly appears in Employment Tribunals throughout the country. He is experienced in dealing with pension loss issues, and appeared in one of the leading cases in this area in the Employment Appeals Tribunal. He commonly deals with complicated discrimination and whistle-blowing cases. In addition, he is experienced in dealing with both the non-contentious and contentious implications of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations and advises clients on these issues both internally, and at Tribunal if necessary. He regularly provides internal advice to clients on issues of various complexities, including large-scale restructures, job evaluation and equal pay issues.
