Lucie works with Registered Providers across the country and has a great deal of litigation and advisory experience in relation to all aspects of housing management and antisocial behaviour. Lucie's particular areas of interest are trial advocacy (including High Court), tenancy fraud, mental health and mental capacity, disability equality and human rights, ASB, tenancy enforcement, policy and procedure review, tenure reform, disrepair, successions / exchanges and possession against trespassers.

Lucie is particularly passionate about advocacy, especially trial advocacy, and is an experienced Higher Court Advocate. Lucie deals with all types of hearings from initial injunction / possession applications through to trials and appeals. As an advocate, Lucie has been described as 'tenacious, adversarial, highly-competent and fearless'. Lucie's successes include:

  • Representing a housing association client to successfully defend a Court of Appeal case. The appeal was brought by a tenant following a decision made in a committal trial. It was subsequently dismissed by the Court of Appeal and costs were awarded to the client.
  • Following a contested trial Lucie obtained an outright possession order against a tenant for low level nuisance behaviour. The tenant had caused nuisance and annoyance to her neighbours over a number of months. Her behaviour improved but the nuisance did not cease. The claim for possession was rigorously defended but following effective cross examination and persuasive submissions the Court granted an immediate possession order.
  • Acting on behalf of a housing association client to obtain an indefinite Anti Social Behaviour Injunction against a tenant. The tenant had harassed an employee of the housing association over a number of years. Despite the low level of the harassment the Court was persuaded to grant an indefinite injunction given the length of time the harassment had gone on for.

Lucie regularly delivers training sessions for clients and is invited to speak at external seminars and conferences. In particular, Lucie has spoken at National Capita Conferences, CIH Conferences, Tenancy Fraud Forum and Resolve (formerly Social Landlord's Crime and Nuisance Group) Events.

Lucie works closely with her clients and has an in-depth understanding of the issues faced within the Social Housing sector. Lucie prides herself on delivering an excellent client service, by identifying clients' objectives and meeting these in a swift, effective and cost efficient manner.
