Sal qualified as a solicitor in January 2012, having specialised in Employment law since 2008. Sal joined the Forbes Commercial Employment team as an Associate in February 2018.
Sal advises on everyday aspects of Employment Law, ranging from disciplinary and grievance issues to medical capability and redundancy, and has provided practical training on these processes to managers. Sal has drafted Employment Tribunal pleadings and witness statements involving multiple claimants and respondents, for example in respect of a pregnancy-related discrimination claim on behalf of an end-user in an agency arrangement. Sal enjoys the more technical aspects of Employment Law, having advised a putative transferee which was part of a consortium in a contested TUPE transfer.
Sal has experience in Employment status disputes and is well-versed in assisting businesses embarking on collective redundancy consultation, including those involving site closures. He provides pragmatic advice that both meets clients' business objectives and ensures a robust defence is in place should litigation arise as a consequence.
Sal is a member of the Employment Lawyers' Association.
