The Employment team at Forbes offers a full range of training sessions on a wide variety of legal topics to clients at their premises. Forbes is fully accredited by the SRA to provide CPD points for these sessions and all are delivered by experienced solicitors. Below is a selection of seminars that we regularly deliver to clients. However, we are happy to work with clients to develop bespoke solutions.

Appeals Handling

This session is aimed at those delegates involved in dealing with appeals against disciplinary/grievance matters. It provides an overview of the importance of the appeal process, looking at relevant case law and providing genuine hands on tips to deal with regular matters and particular problems that arise at disciplinary appeals.

Conduct and Capability

This is an interactive session designed for any delegates dealing with staffing issues; and can be pitched at different levels depending on the requirements of the individual client. It is heavily interactive and involves a role playing session in order to illustrate the potential pitfalls and problems that can be encountered on a daily basis in dealing with conduct and capability matters.

Contracts, Redundancy and TUPE

This session is aimed at providing an overview of the provisions of contracts of employment; the position in relation to potential variations of contract, the impact of redundancies and the impact of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006. As with all our sessions, this can be tailored to fit individual needs and is aimed to provide a general overview of the various provisions in order to give delegates a grounding in the relevant principles.

Equality and Diversity

This is a session designed to highlight the impact of the Equality Act 2010 on the workplace and to explain the various legislative provisions; with reference to most recent case law in order to give employees a full flavour of the need to be aware of equality and diversity issues in the workplace.

General Updates

This is a general update session that can be run on a six monthly or yearly basis in order to provide those dealing with HR matters with a general update of employment law which is constantly changing and evolving.

Mock Tribunal

The team produce 2 sessions on this; one based on a discrimination case and one based on an unfair dismissal case. This session is aimed to provide delegates with an insight into the Tribunal forum and aims to be as realistic as possible. It encourages delegates to be involved in the decision making process in order to highlight the potential issues that regularly arise in the Employment Tribunal.

Pensions Auto-Enrolment

The Pensions Auto-Enrolment Training provides guidance on employers' responsibilities and obligations under the new provisions. Explaining the steps that you should take to ensure that your business is ready for the change.

Social Media in the Workplace

The application and use of Social Media is constantly evolving and the effects are not only far reaching, but constantly changing as the form and use of Social Media evolves. It can be a potential minefield and our training package provides clarity to employers on the issues surrounding the use of Social Media and the steps employers can take to protect their interests whilst considering the most appropriate approach to Social Media for their business.
