HR Business Support

The firm's HR Business Support Department provides businesses with advice, guidance and support in dealing with internal procedures and processes such as grievances, disciplinaries, appeals and practical HR issues.

The Department can provide a HR Business Support Manager or HR Business Support Officer who will act independently to represent your Company's needs. The advantage to you is that the team will provide an experienced and balanced view upon internal procedures, in line with current statutory requirements and the ACAS Code of Practice.

The HR Business support team can:

  • Ensure client confidentiality
  • Chair disciplinary and grievance hearings at all levels including appeals (where the HR Adviser has had no previous involvement in the procedure)
  • Prepare minutes of meetings
  • Preparing outcome decisions
  • Attend Employment Tribunal hearings to give evidence as a witness on the Company's behalf
  • Act independently in the Company's best interests

However, the team cannot:

  • Provide legal advice
  • Be influenced by any party to the dispute
  • Discuss with your legal representative advice provided in connection with your dispute

Although HR Business Support is a distinctly separate service it does compliment the advice offered by the firm's Employment Department, whom businesses may or may not have instructed to provide legal advice. All matters in which HR Business Support is required will be treated as a completely separate matter without the involvement of our employment solicitors or their support staff.
