A typical day…

...will often involve drafting or amending a variety of documents to be used in the sale or purchase of a business, advising upon contract terms as well as speaking to potential new clients about the needs of their business and how Forbes can help them to avoid future problems.

Expertise

I advise people and their companies on a variety of non-contentious issues that might affect a business. This includes advising people on the best way to set up a business while keeping them as financially protected as possible, right through to selling off a business once the owner is ready to hang up his or her boots.

I also advise people on various issues that arise during the lifetime of a business. Examples might be how best the shareholders of a company or partners in a business can try to ensure the continuity of good relationships by entering into a shareholders' agreement or partnership agreement or how to grow the business by adopting a franchise or agency model.

A number of my clients are entrepreneurs setting up new businesses but I also act for several larger established businesses and the types of work these businesses do can vary enormously.
