A vacancy has arisen for a Paralegal within the Insurer Department based at the Rutherford House office.

The role will include:-

  • Working within the Social Care and Abuse Claims Team
  • Preparing detailed chronologies of social care documentation
  • Lists of documents and digital redaction
  • Administrative support to the team
  • Using the firms case management systems

The successful candidate will ideally:-

  • Hold further education qualifications (Degree/ LPC or equivalent/ CILEX)

Trainee Secretary, Matrimonial/Family, Chorley (Ref 722)

 

A vacancy has arisen for a Trainee Secretary within the Matrimonial/Family Department based at the Chorley Office.

Working within the Matrimonial/Family Department and as part of a team, the role will include:

  • Working on Reception on a daily basis and helping out in the Matrimonial/Family Department when necessary.
  • Working in co-operation with fee earners
  • Typing letters, notes, memos and other documents, using PfW case management system
  • Sending faxes and emails
  • Filing and photocopying
  • Dealing with clients in person and by phone

The successful applicant will ideally have :

  • touch typing speeds of 30wpm, or willingness to learn
  • excellent attention to detail and proof reading skills
  • excellent interpersonal organisational and IT skills

In addition, the role will include ensuring that departmental documentation and file management meets the firm’s LAA (Legal Aid Agency) SQM (Specialist Quality Mark) standards. 

Candidates must have 5 A-C grades at GCSE level, or equivalent, including Maths and English.

Departmental specific training and individual development will be given to the successful candidate.  The hours of work will be 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, commencing with 20 holidays, plus 8 statutory bank holidays.

The position will involve working as a member of a team within the office undertaking the following duties:

- filing of correspondence

- administration and distribution of correspondence, incoming and outgoing - including   

   internal mail to other branches.

- inputting data on to the case management system

- archiving files

- reception and switchboard cover

The successful applicant will have:

- 5 GCSEs A to C, or equivalent, including Maths, English Language & ICT – essential criteria;

- good interpersonal and organisational and IT skills;

- a willingness to learn to touch type and develop skills as they progress within the Firm. 

Full training will be provided, including undertaking the Apprenticeship, which includes a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration at the Forbes Training Centre in Blackburn.  The hours will be 8.30am until 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, commencing with 20 holidays, plus 8 statutory bank holidays pro rata.

Firmwide Performance Skills Trainer (Ref 712)

Forbes Solicitors, one of the largest Law Firms in the North of England, has a vacancy for a Performance Skills Trainer, combined with some Database Integrity, based at the Northgate office in Blackburn.

The successful candidate, will work as part of a larger HR & Training team, supporting colleagues across all departments within the firm.

The role will include:

- Designing, delivering and evaluating performance skills training suitable for all levels across the firm

- Review, improve and update training and associated materials

- Responding to training needs relating to any new regulations, legislation or firm initiatives

- Designing, writing, administering and reporting online training using the Moodle platform

- Delivering induction training to new starters including managing and enrolling onto the eLearning training used by the firm

- Keep training records up to date

- Evaluate training requests to ensure needs are met

 

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Training/Learning & Development qualifications

- Experience in Coaching/Training

- Excellent presentation and training delivery skills

- Experience of designing and delivering performance skills training

The successful candidate, will learn PfW, the firm’s Case Management System, Intranet and Outlook, to support the applications training of staff, and, will also check, and maintain, the information we hold on the PfW database to reduce duplicates.  They will also develop their training style and skills to enable staff to maximise Forbes systems which supports the day to day operations of the firm.

The ideal candidate will be, reliable, enthusiastic, flexible, accurate and have good communication skills, lots of patience and a genuine interest in developing our staff. 

Knowledge of PfW, Microsoft Office and Outlook, and Moodle experience is desirable.  Keyboard skills (touch typing) would be an advantage.  A full UK driving licence and own transport is needed for the role, due to travel around the offices being required.
