Forbes Solicitors, a top 200 law firm and one of the leading firms in the North of England, has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate within the ever-expanding Insurance team based at its Blackburn office.

Forbes Solicitors has a growing team of over 320 across its 9 Lancashire, Manchester and Leeds offices and is a full service law firm.

The role will include:-

  • Working within the Social Services and Abuse Claims Team dealing with complex and sensitive matters
  • Directly supporting the file handling team
  • Undertaking legal research and drafting
  • Preparing detailed chronologies of social care documentation
  • Lists of documents and digital redaction
  • Some administrative support to the team
  • Using the firms case management systems

The successful candidate will ideally:-

  • Be a qualified Solicitor or CILEX
  • Have an interest in long term development/progression within the department and business development
  • Have some prior experience with social care, Court of Protection, deprivation of liberty, family and human rights although not essential
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised, use initiative and be methodical
  • Have the ability to work on large quantities of documents, maintaining concentration and retaining attention to detail
  • have the ability to work as part of a team and be reliable and enthusiastic
  • have competent IT skills
  • have previous knowledge of a case management system would be desirable, however, full training will be given
  • have a full UK driving licence is required as travel will be required throughout the North West region.

This is a full time, permanent role.

The role will include preparation of documentation, legal research, meeting with clients/taking meeting notes, providing secretarial, administrative and legal support to fee earners, arranging appointments and assisting fee earners with administration of client files.

The successful candidate will:

- have previous experience in litigation.

- ideally be CILEX qualified, or hold other further education qualifications (e.g.LLB, A Levels)

- have an interest in long term development / progression in the department

- have the ability to work unsupervised and good self-motivation skills

We are looking to complement our hard working and talented IT department with an ambitious and knowledgeable IT Case Management Developer. Previous work experience from Legal IT industry is desirable, but not essential.
