Motorway Road Traffic Accident Leads to £7,000 Settlement

A sales manager recovered £7,000 following a Road traffic accident in 2026 when their vehicle was struck whilst the Claimant was travelling down a motorway slip road. The collision was at high speed as a consequence the Claimant sustained a Muscular sprain to the neck and back and a Fractured vertebrae.

The Defendants’ insurers were notified of the claim via the rapid claims portal. The Defendants admitted liability putting the Claimant to proof of their losses and injuries.

Before steps could be taken to obtain a medical report, the drivers’ insurers made a pre medical offer in the sum of £7000 . Initially the Claimant was reluctant to accept the offer given the uncertainty of their recovery. The Claimant subsequently changed their mind and agreed to accept the offer rather than wait for a medical opinion.

The Claimant was cautioned against taking such an approach due to the possibility of an uncertain recovery and the fact the claim could not be re-opened once the offer had been accepted. The Claimant acknowledged that they had a pre-existing back history which was likely to complicate the prognosis. The Claimant felt that they had progressed well with their recovery and was returning to their pre accident state. The Claimant, against advice agreed to accept the Defendant's offer.
