The accident occurred when the Claimant, a delivery driver, entered the Defendant’s garage to deliver goods. While walking through the premises, the Claimant tripped over a raised wire crossing their path, causing a fall that resulted in bruising to both knees and a facial injury, which has left a minor scar. While the scar was not of cosmetic concern, the incident still caused unnecessary pain and distress.
The Claimant turned to Forbes Solicitors' Personal Injury team for legal support. The Defendant initially ignored the claim, but their insurers later responded, admitting liability but challenging the severity of the injuries due to alleged inconsistencies in the medical evidence. Forbes Solicitors proceeded to issue court proceedings and made a Part 36 settlement offer on behalf of the Claimant, which was accepted.
The case was handled by John Bennett, one of Forbes Solicitors’ experienced personal injury solicitors. The Claimant was awarded £2,000 in compensation, bringing a successful resolution to a challenging case.
