Forbes Solicitors has secured a £30,000 settlement for a woman who sustained serious injuries after being struck by an unsecured gazebo at a town centre festival in 2023.
The incident occurred on a windy day when a sudden gust of wind blew a gazebo from its position, hitting the Claimant and causing a fractured shoulder, along with pain in her left hip, knee, and head. As a result of the accident, the Claimant was left with restricted shoulder movement, only 50% range of motion, and experienced significant difficulty with activities that required lifting her arm above shoulder height.
She was unable to drive for eight weeks, had to stop swimming, and struggled with daily tasks such as DIY and gardening. To manage her home, the Claimant employed a cleaner for three months following the injury.
After the accident, the Claimant contacted Forbes Solicitors to pursue a Personal Injury claim. Upon contacting the event organisers, the Defendants admitted liability, acknowledging that the gazebo should have been properly secured to prevent such an incident.
The case proceeded to court, and a settlement of £30,000 was successfully negotiated by John Bennett, a personal injury expert at Forbes Solicitors, ensuring fair compensation for the claimant’s physical and lifestyle limitations.
