The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced that following the approval by the House of Commons of the Whiplash Injury (Amendment) Regulations 2025 on 2 April 2025, with a further approval following a short debate in the House of Lords during the week commencing 5 May 2025, the whiplash tariff will increase by approximately 15%, coming into effect at the end of May 2025. There will be no changes to how claimants make their claims, however for any claim made on or after 31 May 2025, a new tariff award structure now applies. Claims made on or after 31 May 2021 but before 31 May 2025, will be awarded as per the previous tariff structure. The MoJ has set out a table of the new tariff award structure.
