Falling ladder injury: Forbes secures £5,800 settlement

In June 2021, the Claimant was at work when a workman accidentally allowed a ladder to fall onto him, causing a laceration to his scalp- resulting in ongoing headaches.

Following the incident, the Claimant instructed Forbes Solicitors to make a claim for the accident they had suffered at work. When Forbes Solicitors contacted the Defendant, the Defendant admitted liability but failed to accept the Claimants initial offer. As a result, court proceedings were issued to determine the value of the claim.

Unfortunately, the Clamant died before the court could consider the case. The proceedings were paused the Claimants estate obtained Probate. Once Probate was granted, the Defendants increased their offer, and the case settled before it was due to be heard for an assessment of damages.
