The Crime and Policing Act 2026 received Royal Assent on 29 April 2026 and includes provisions which, once commenced, will enable Housing Associations to obtain premises closure orders directly — providing a faster and more effective response to serious anti-social behaviour.

This is a significant and welcome development for the sector. However, as Spider-Man famously observed, “With great power comes great responsibility.” These new powers will bring additional legal, operational, and reputational responsibilities, making early preparation essential.

Join Partner, Shirley Faragher, for an insightful webinar exploring:

  • How the new powers are expected to operate in practice;

  • The potential risks and challenges for Housing Associations;

  • Evidential and procedural considerations;

  • The practical steps organisations can take now ahead of anticipated commencement later in 2026.
