Labour’s proposed introduction of day one employment rights has shone a light on an increasing problem within many businesses…performance management. There has already been an increased scrutiny of how employers performance manage employees effectively but what does this look like?? The key is proper process and a having a good, fair reason. We will discuss the importance of effective probationary periods, what a fair process looks like and how to manage both the business case to manage an employee’s exit, as well as the protection from a potential unfair dismissal claim. We will also talk about how your company values may be intrinsic to performance managing your mood hoovers and how we can make your values mean something to HR.
