Ashley Marshall

Ashley qualified as a Solicitor in 2007 and works in our Wills, Probate, Tax and Trust Team. He is a third-generation lawyer, his grandfather and mother having practised for over 70 years combined.

 He specialises in estate planning helping families effectively arrange their wealth to minimise the impact of Inheritance Tax on their deaths. He advises business owners and farmers in relation to succession planning, ensuring transfers of business and farming assets on death are as seamless and tax efficient as possible.

 Ashley has experience in arranging pension benefits and life policies, again to ensure tax efficient transfer on death.

 He also deals with the administration of estates after death and posthumous variations of entitlements, often to achieve tax advantages for beneficiaries. He has extensive experience in the area of Mental Capacity law, from Lasting Powers of Attorney to Court of Protection applications (both for initial Deputyships and on behalf of exiting Deputies).

 He adopts a holistic approach within his specialism and works closely with other professional advisors to provide the best possible solutions for clients.
