Laura joined Forbes Solicitors in August 2019, initially working as a Paralegal in the Public Sector Employment team before commencing her training contract with the firm in September 2020. She qualified as a solicitor in September 2022 and, following her qualification, joined the Wills, Trusts and Estate Disputes team in September 2024.
Laura graduated from the University of Lancaster in 2018 with a First-Class Honours degree in Law. She went on to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) alongside a Master of Laws (LLM) in Legal Practice, achieving a Distinction in 2019.
Within the Wills, Trusts and Estate Disputes team, Laura acts for a range of clients, including trustees, executors and beneficiaries. She advises on and represents clients in both bringing and defending disputes involving -
Claims for reasonable financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
Contesting the validity of a Will, for example, based on a lack of formality, undue influence, lack of capacity, or lack of knowledge or approval of the terms of the Will
Advising trustees on breach of trust claims
Trusts of Land and proprietary estoppel disputes
