A factory worker has received £15,221.90 in compensation after sustaining a serious ankle injury while operating machinery at work. The accident occurred while the Claimant worked on a linoleum machine at a factory producing flooring materials.
To access and remove the linoleum from the rollers, the Claimant was required to step onto the machinery to free the materials. While attempting to remove linoleum, the Claimant’s ankle became trapped in the rollers, resulting in a broken ankle.
After the accident, the Claimant contacted Forbes Solicitors to pursue a personal injury claim. An investigation by Forbes revealed that the employer had failed to provide appropriate equipment to allow safe access to the machinery. The Defendant admitted liability for the injury. A medical report was obtained to assess the extent of the injury and negotiations followed between the parties, resulting in a successful outcome for the Claimant.
The case was settled by Michelle Kemp, one of Forbes Solicitors’ experienced personal injury solicitors. The Claimant was awarded £15,221.90 in compensation, bringing a successful resolution to a case. This case highlights how important it is for companies to provide secure workplaces and the appropriate safety equipment to reduce the risk of workplace accidents. It also illustrates how, with the correct legal assistance, victims of industrial accidents can obtain just compensation.
