An article in The Law Society Gazette highlights the ongoing problems at some NHS trusts.
Lawyers have been urged to help uncover baby death scandals using their involvement in cases to help identify systemic failings in NHS trusts. Members of the Society for Clinical Injury Lawyers SCIL were encouraged to work together to spot recurring issues and patterns of mistreatment.
Here at Forbes Solicitors, we have sadly been involved in many claims where a child has been lost due to errors by the NHS. The loss has a devastating impact on the family and lessons need to be learned to improve safety. Everyone wants and needs a better and safer NHS. We learn from our mistakes and when things go wrong, we should do our best to put them right. One way to bring about change is to drive home how these incidents can affect a family who lose their child by way of pursuing a claim for damages.
If you, a friend or loved one, have been unfortunate enough to suffer an injury or loss as a result of a medical mistake it may be worth writing to the organisation setting out your concerns. They should acknowledge your letter within a few weeks and provide you with a full written response within a few months. They may call you in to discuss it face to face. Either way we recommend you ask for a response in writing.
If you feel you have been let down or need some help with recovering any losses arising from a medical mistake, please contact one of the team for some no-win, no fee, no obligation advice.
