Our Commercial Department provides support in areas such as:

• Building contracts (including making use of JCT and NEC models)
• Subcontracts
• Collateral Warranties
• Professional Appointments
• Performance Guarantees and Bonds
• Deeds of Novation

We work with construction companies, developers, builders, land owners, lenders/ funders, facilities management companies and professionals such as architects and structural engineers.

Examples of some of our experience within the construction sector includes:

• Acting on behalf of the Employer in the implementation of a full suite of building contracts including Building Contract (based on JCT D&B 2016), Subcontractor Agreements, Professional Appointments, Collateral Warranties, Deeds of Novation, Performance and Guarantee Bonds for the design and build of a hospital and subsequent instruction to act in connection with extension of hospital
• Acting on behalf of professional subcontractor specialising in advising on and carrying out lifting projects. Engagements ranged from negotiating framework standard terms to bespoke NEC3 project-specific agreements for multi-million pound projects
• Reviewing and updating project management company's bespoke suite of JCT Schedules of Amendments to bring company in line with 2016 from previous 2011 position
