Blackburn Law Association Raise £1,120 for East Lancashire Hospice

Blackburn Incorporated Law Association's (BiLA) annual dinner took place at Ewood Park, the home of Blackburn Rovers, on Friday the 7th February 2020. The event brought together over 130 legal professionals from across the region.

After the President John Myles a partner in Forbes Solicitors welcomed the gathering, delicious dinner was enjoyed and a live band provided the entertainment to guests while they mingled with old friends and reflected on the past year

The toast to the Association, preceded by an amusing speech, was proposed by District Judge Roger Bury, himself a past president of the Association in 1999.

As well as the chance to socialize, there was also a serious point to the event which was to raise as much as possible for the BiLA's chosen charity. The chosen charity this year is the East Lancashire Hospice, the charity supports all patients with palliative care needs across our region.

We are extremely pleased to announce that the BiLA Annual Dinner 2020 has raised £1,120.

The President commented:

"We are delighted to have been able to support East Lancashire Hospice in raising so much money for such a worthwhile cause. We know that without charitable donations such as these, the Hospice is not able to achieve all it does for those in our region who need their services most. The BiLA dinner was a great success. We are already looking forward to the next one!"
