BUSINESS OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED
Our Social Services and Abuse Claims team has specialised in assisting Local Authority Social Services departments for many years and are recognised by Legal 500 as being renowned for our considerable expertise in historic abuse and grooming cases.
In addition to dealing with large scale child sexual exploitation litigation, our team regularly deal with claims regarding allegations against well-known individuals, failure to remove claims, claims within care establishments, schools and foster care, as well as dealing with Human Rights and Inquest matters. Our team are trusted to deal with these types of claims in a sensitive manner.
We have provided support outside the usual claims environment as National Inquiries, Select Committee intervention and media attention need to be considered and reacted to in a fast moving and developing area of law and public opinion. We pride ourselves on not dealing with claims at arm's length, but rather being a supportive partner with our clients in a highly sensitive area.
The team includes an in-house social care expert who is a professional with decades of experience in child protection and policy creation. This allows us to both deal with claims more cost effectively and to provide risk management advice on practice and procedure.
We are also regularly instructed at the outset of matters to deal with the Data Protection Act and Freedom of information Act requests and advise on the complex issues of disclosure and subsequent litigation from cradle to grave.
We pride ourselves on our policies and practice with regards to document security. We utilise digital redaction software with security protocols, password protected disc only disclosure processes, secure email links and secure digital storage. We also ensure that any other service providers that we use, from Legal Counsel to Couriers, reach the exacting standards to which we ourselves work.
