At Forbes our employees are our most important asset. The success, continued development and growth of the firm can be attributed to our employees.
Forbes offers a limited number of unpaid vacation placements within the Blackburn or Preston offices from students' second year onwards.
Vacation Placements last for a period of 1 to 2 weeks during July and August, and during that time, students will gain the opportunity to shadow a solicitor in one or more practice areas within the firm. The aim of the placement is to give students a real experience of the world of work in a busy law firm.
Following a successful application, you will be invited to join us for a pre-vacation scheme lunch to, again, meet others undertaking the scheme with you, supervisors and current trainees. A summer vacation scheme is your opportunity to experience life as it really is at the firm. This offers real involvement and is essentially a mini-training contract. It is real work: we value your opinion and use your input. You will be one of the team, participating in group exercises, attending presentations and meeting clients. Generally seeing life as it would be in a contract. It is a great way of getting to know us and seeing our work first hand.
The process is similar to that of Training Contract Applications and students who wish to seek Training Contracts are encouraged to apply.
The application process for 2019 Vacation Placements is now closed. If you have not heard anything by 31 May, please assume you have been unsuccessful for this year.
The processes will reopen after the New Year when you will be able to apply online for the 2020 Summer Vacation Placement Scheme and 2022 Training Contracts.
