GDPR Steps to Take Now

The GDPR will introduce significant changes to data protection legislation. In order to prepare for the changes, Forbes are recommending clients to start their preparation early.

Steps you can take now in readiness for GDPR include reviewing the following:

  • The personal data you are processing;
  • The purpose for processing that personal data;
  • Whether the personal data held is accurate;
  • Whether the personal data continues to be required; and
  • If consent is required – does it meet the higher GDPR standard?

Additional steps you can take include reviewing the following:

  • Existing data protection policies and procedures;
  • Dealing with subject access requests;
  • Terms and conditions of business; and
  • Privacy policy

The Commercial Department at Forbes can provide support for both private and public sector organisations in preparing for the changes to be introduced by GDPR.
