John joined Forbes in 2011 as a trainee solicitor, completing his training in September 2013 when he qualified into the Corporate & Restructuring department. His experience includes both corporate and commercial work. Upon qualification John moved to specialise in commercial work and is now mainly involved in commercial contractual matters.
John's work predominantly relates to drafting contracts governing the provision of both goods and services (be it business to business or business to consumer); commercial agency; manufacturing and distribution; sport and charities.
John also advises on and assists businesses in relation to intellectual property (involving both the protection and exploitation of intellectual property) and IT issues.
As part of a wider team, John is also involved in assisting with larger construction projects and corporate transactions. He has worked for a range of clients including PLCs, football clubs, housing associations, charities and small and medium-sized enterprises ('SMEs').
