Community & Business Partners (formerly Blackburn Partnership) is pleased to announce, Joanne Pickering, Head of HR, Training & Quality at Forbes Solicitors, has taken over as Chair of the Blackburn HR Managers Forum.

The Forum is open to HR personnel from companies operating in the Pennine Lancashire area and its members meet twice a year with the aim of bringing together private sector companies to share best practice, debate topical issues of concern and network with other HR practitioners. In addition, external speakers give presentations on topical issues or recent changes in employment legislation.

Joanne says "At Forbes, we are keen to put something back into the community and offer support to others. What I have seen over my career is that all businesses have the same HR issues, it is the context which is different and therefore, we can all share our experiences and learn from one another."

Joanne is a Chartered Member of CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) and has worked in HR for over 20 years within many different sectors, including automotive, not for profit, further education and for the last eight years with Forbes Solicitors, which has nine offices in the Northwest and more than 350 staff.
