Craig Liversidge, a Solicitor working in the Crown Court Department at Forbes Preston office, has been shortlisted as Legal Aid Criminal Defence Lawyer of the Year, an award for which only two other Solicitors across the country were shortlisted for.
The awards ceremony took place in London this week and Craig was commended by the panel, chaired by Cherie Booth QC for his work on a case heard before Preston Crown Court which followed the largest missing person enquiry in the history of Lancashire Constabulary.
The awards panel praised Craig, "He went as far as postponing his wedding to enable him to represent the client on this murder case. Had it not been for the dogged determination of Craig to test and probe the prosecution evidence, the client may well have been convicted."
Winston Hood, Managing Partner congratulates Craig on his achievement, "It is a tremendous recognition for Craig, and for the firm that he reached the final stage in a year when a record number of entries were received."
