Everything stopped for tea as staff at Forbes' Rutherford House office staged an afternoon tea event with a dress down element and raffle in aid of local children's charity, Child Action Northwest.
Staff enjoyed specially iced cupcakes and speciality teas and coffees as part of the charity's campaign to get companies and organisations to support their annual traditional Pound Day appeal by organising Pound Days of their own. The charity's first Pound Day started in 1892 when people were then asked to donate a pound or to give a pound of stuff that the Orphanage could use. This year's main Pound Day event takes place on 16th June with a family fundraiser at Oswaldtwistle Mills based on the original Victorian event. Organisations wishing to plan their own Pound Day fundraising event can contact the fundraising office for a special Pound Day pack.
