Michael Blacklidge, Partner at local law firm Forbes Solicitors, recently hosted the Blackburn Incorporated Law Associations Annual Dinner in his capacity as President of the association. The Association represents solicitors from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
The official guests included principal speakers Desmond Hudson, Chief Executive of the Law Society and Alistair Webster QC. Over 225 local solicitors and their guests were entertained with a speech from Mr Hudson who brought local practitioners up to date with a number of topical issues, including the Law Society's opposition to the current crop of legal aid reforms, followed by a more light hearted and humorous speech from Alistair Webster QC.
